We did the river cruise from Moscow to St Petersburg. The cruise was great and the english speaking guides were extremely knowledgeable and spoke very clear english. Our only negative would be that as there were only 11 english speaking guests on our cruise and our on-board director didn\u0027t give us the same information that the norgewian or french continguent got. I cannot fault \u0022Express Russia\u0022. I would however warn people about taxi drivers in Russia. Be very careful and make sure you get a price for the ride before you get into a taxi and stay well clear of the \u0022Taxi Marshall\u0022. We paid 10,000 rubles for an 18 minute ride from Moscow airport to our hotel.

People are familiar with HotelsPro and Real Russia in terms of travelling Russia to apply for visa or purchase train tickets in Taiwan.\nThey might as well use \u0022Express to Russia\u0022 as a reliable partner by my previous experiences.

GOOD WAY TO EXPERIENCE RUSSIA

I found Express to Russia online while searching for a more authentic Russian cruise than on the more well-known western \u0022longships\u0022.\nMy experience booking was excellent: no question too small; response time was within hours; and visa advice for Canadians was spot on.\nMy transfers were good from/to the two airports, although I had to wait for my driver in Moscow because I came through passport control and customs in less than 20 minutes.\nThe cruise on the Zasima Shashkov was good but slightly hampered by all the passengers who came with organized tours, except five of us . Those of us who booked independently were not included by the ship\u0027s crew. We did not receive the daily schedule, we were not assigned to a bus for the tours, etc. Our tables in the dining room were not with the others but to one side near the entrance. \nI fixed it, not with help from the ship\u0027s staff, but by talking to one of the tour company leaders who adopted us. If Tanya hadn\u0027t, we wouldn\u0027t have had any idea of the day\u0027s events or been able to join the shore excursions. Tanya should be complimented for including us in everything, every day. \nThe shore tours were superb and we had excellent local guides.\nMeals on board were average by western standards, the food was plentiful and well prepared, but nothing special.\nMy cabin steward was a star and took care of me every day with a cheerful smile, but no English!\nI doubt I will return to Russia, not because I don\u0027t want to, but because I have other countries to visit first.

We travelled in September 2017 on a 4D3N Golden Ring excursion. Our driver was very responsible and respectful \nMost of our itineraries listed were as planned.\nWe did miss some of the sights listed. For example the Assumption Cathedral was closed on Monday and we were not able to see the interior as listed on the itinerary. \nOn our excursion to Bogolyubovo, our guide decided that the 15 minute trek to Church of Intersession on the Nerl was not worth the effort so we only visited the Complex of the Bogoliubovo Monastery exteriors. \nOn our drive to Sergei Posad, we were supposed to have a photo stop over at Pereslavl Zalessky to see the Red Square and Transfiguration Cathedral, but our guide claims it was not listed on her itinerary.\nOverall we did enjoy the trip.

Express to Russia is trustworthy

We booked a river cruise from St Petersburg to Moscow through Express to Russia as well as a transfer from the airport to the port in St Petersburg. Express to Russia proved to be completely trustworthy. The transfer pick up worked smoothly with driver waiting for us on arrival and everything to do with the cruise went well. They had even included some of the \u0027optional\u0027 excursions in our package that other people had to pay additional amounts for. Bottom line is they are real, you can book through them and have peace of mind.\nNote: we booked on the Lev Tolstoy - much cheaper than Viking and it was excellent.

Discovering Russia by Train

I was traveling 6 weeks by Train. And booked all my routes (Moscow-Nizhny Novgorod-Yekaterinburg-Omsk-Novosibirsk-Krasnoyarsk-Irkutsk-Ulan Ude-Wladiwostok) on the Website \u0022Express to Russia\u0022 on one day. I have got the confirmation/ ticket number very quickly by mail. They always wrote a personal message such as \u0022Have a good trip\u0022/ \u0022Hope you are enjoying Russia\u0022.\nJust one hint what they could do better:\nClearly infroming the passenger about the timezones and that the trains are departing and arriving after Moscow and not local time.\nIt was written somewhere on the ticket, but sometimes passenger are busy and don´t read it carefuly. :)

Could Have Been Nightmare

Booked a river cruise Moscow to St Petersburg. \nThe Pros. Express to Russia very responsive to all inquires.\nThe English speaking manager of the Cruise and all local guides outstanding.\nWe had a suite, but conversation with others told us that all rooms were clean and comfortable.\nFood was good.\nAll programs on the boat were excellent.\n\nThe cons. We were not on passenger list when we arrived.\nThe English speaking group were all from A1 travel and we were not included in the English speaking dinning room. 2 other couples also not included in English speaking dinning room. We were step children, basically. The manager was excellent and included us in all activities and we rode the bus with English speaking only. This could have, however been a big problem, if the manager was not so good. They spent 3 meals a day with each other socializing. We had no English speakers in our dining room. \nIt was a bold face lie by company that there is A/C. THERE IS NO A/C. The units are as loud as a jet liner and blow around the air in the cabin. We were lucky to have cooperating temperatures if we kept the windows open. Again, despite the claims there is no A/C. All passengers told same story.\nIt is a bold face lie that there is internet. THERE IS NO INTERNET. I REPEAT, THERE IS NO INTERNET. Because I was informed that there was, I told my family. Then I disappeared. No contact in when in port mnext to a terminal building with strong internet. THEY LIE. STATED SIGNAL \u0022can be weak\u0022. No, there is no internet and they know this.\nThere is no coffee or tea except at meal time. I felt sorry for those who got up early and had to sit and wait for breakfast to get coffee. SHAMEFUL. We had a suite and the ability to make coffee at will. I was so grateful for this.\n\nIn summary the trip was awesome but there were problems as stated. The wonderful staff made up for all ills.\nExpress to Russia should have arranged English speaking meals for us as other companies did for their clients. At the lest, we should have been informed that we would be the step children.\nWe certainly should have been informed that their was no A/C and no internet, by Express to Russia, instead of them perpetuating lie.\n\nWe suggest to Express to Russia they they actually take a river trip on each of the trips they book. Then, honestly, report the real situation to potential passengers. We may have booked a different ship if we had known the truth. Misrepresenting reality is never a good thing.

Sapsan train from Moscow to St.Petersburg

I also travelled from Moscow to St Petersburg on a Sapsan train which arrived exactly in time (much better than often in Germany!) :-)\nI also get some sandwhiches, chocolate bar, water and slippers for free what I did not expect.\n\nOnly one thing which could be improved. It was not on this turn.\nBut I \u0022booked\u0022/\u0022reserved\u0022 another train more than 60 days in advance. They told me, that the price can change a little bit. But as I could really buy the ticket the prize was doubled ... I suggest either to not show the price in advance or keep it for \u0022first come first served\u0022 customers.\nBut again some positive aspect of this: The refunding was done quickly and without any anger.\n\nSo summarised I would recommend \u0022Express to Russia\u0022 at any time :-)
