I went to Russian Rail to book our journey from St Petersburg to Helsinki, having found the Finnish Rail website too confusing. I initially booked online, but the Russian Rail travel agent emailed me personally to check that I had the right date - it turned out that I had booked for the wrong month!! Thanks to the agent, my error was not costly and we had a great trip.

Would do it with them again.

The comunication was effective. We had an e-mail reply after our questions and inquiries. Unfortunately you cannot know the exact price of the tickets until around 6 weeks before the trip. For us one ticket ended up being cheaper than expected but another one ended up being much more expensive. However they write to you to confirm if you still want the ticket or not after the final price. Always very polite and approachable. The trip was unforgettable. Totally recommend RussianRail.com

Awesome experience!\nIt was my first experience in a train and it was a better experience than I expected. It wasn\u0027t a 1st class train, maybe it looked old and all, but it was incredible.

Sapsan from Moscow to St. Petersburg

We traveled from Moscow to St. Petersburg on the Sapsan high speed train. Getting tickets and information on Russian Rail was easy. Information is complete and accurate, available in English. Train was pleasant and comfortable, and the whole experience was worry free.\n\nIf you are planning a similar trip, I would recommend don\u0027t bother with the economy+ class that provides a free \u0022meal\u0022. It is just a very small cold sandwich and a cookie. Cookie was good. Sandwich was one thin slice of cold chicken and 3 slices of pickle on very soft cold bread. No sauce. No condiments. Not worth it. Buy food in the train station and carry on.\n\nAlso: free wifi on train is very unstable. Don\u0027t count on it.\n\nNevertheless, we would definitely make this trip again. The Sapsan train was otherwise quite modern and nice.

Russian Rail Is An Excellent Choice

Russian Rail has always provided me with excellent service for my train and taxi reservations. The reservation process is easy and quick. If there is a need to later change the reservation, you already have the name, e-mail, and phone number of your personal representative. Changes are similarly easy and quick.\n\nThe train tickets are in Russian and English so both sides can understand. When presented along with a passport to the train attendant, boarding goes smoothly. The taxi drivers are prompt, polite, and professional plus are good drivers. \n\nI have the greatest confidence in Russian Rail continuing to provide me with excellent service.

Great experience - so easy to book and everything worked smoothly as promised. I\u0027d definitely use again for any future train travel I make in Russia.

It was easy to make the reservations. The trip was comfortable and the train left and arrived on time. It was easy to find the seat places.

We took a train from Helsinki \u0026 St. Petersburg - Moscow round trip. Easy to book online (we did it from Portland, Oregon USA. The service was great, on time and organized. We had print-outs of our tickets from home, but didn\u0027t use them as everything was done with our passport.
