The company charges a huge commission. It is far better to buy the tickets directly from the actual Russian railway site the address of which is available in the lonely planet. No need to buy tickets from Russian Rail website as it is not the actual website of Russian railways. It fools the customers by sounding as Russian railways and thereafter charges 200% commission.

I specified on at least 3 occasion that I wanted a lower berth. I was told that all 1st class are all lower. This is not the case and on a train that was half empty I was given an upper berth. Would have been easy to just take a bit of time, check this and give good service, you didn\u0027t. Just another clerk who doesn\u0027t care about the service they offer. Use another company that cares about customer service.

I booked train tickets through RussianRail.com because a group of my friends were using the same site. In retrospect, I would have purchased my train tickets directly from the train company Russian Railways \nWhen I ordered my tickets with RussianRail.com, it was not an immediate purchase, I had to wait several days before my tickets were issued. Also, there is nothing on their website asking your seat preference (table or no table). I was traveling with a toddler and of course a table would not be preferred as he hit his head everytime he got into and out of my lap- it was a very long trip with this table in the way! When I emailed the company to ask to be moved to a seat without a table, I did not get an immediate reply. I followed up with a phone call and they still did not offer a solution. The next day they responded to my email and told me they could move me if I paid a $25 per ticket change fee. Why would I be changed is USD? Why so much? If the website were more clear and simply asked if I preferred a table or not then I would not have had this issue. Next time I will book directly with Russian Railways and choose my preferred seat.

Pleasant trip

We had a great trip from St Petersburg to Helsinki. The high speed Sampan train is the way to go. Booking on online was surprisely easy and accuate and at a goodesk price. The train was clean and very comfortable, even in economy class. The train station in St Pete is a little far from the tourist area of town, easily accessible by taxi or Metro. As the Helsinki train leaves from a special station, there was no trouble finding the right train. The waiting area was very crowded. Efficient service with problems

We purchased our tickets online from St Petersburg to Riga Latvia. We liked the idea of an overnight trip, being able to sleep while traveling. The train was on time as advertised but we had a few problems. There was no meal service available on a train ride that was 15 hours. We thought we would be able to buy food and drinks on the train for dinner, but there was only snacks, cookies and potato chips. We had no ruples and credit cards were not accepted, so we were only able to get a bag of chips with salsa. We were totally unprepared to go to bed hungry and wake up hungry. Then we were awakened at 3:30, 4:00 and 5:30 for passport checks. We don\u0027t know why this could not have been done at the beginning of the trip\nbefore we fell asleep. This was an adventure but not an enjoyable one!!

It was on time. Overall a good experience.\nThe bed could have been a little more comfortable. It was very difficult to comunicate with the staff since we don\u0027t know russian.

Lovely ride at brisk pace. \n\nWe\u0027re happy to have taken Sapsan train option to go to Moscow from St Petersburg. The decor, table seat and service was pretty good.

The best and most simple online ticket service for transsibirian railway tickets. I always tried to book trough this company because they have the best prices. It\u0027s necessary to mention, that you can buy tickets only 3 days before the train\u0027s departure but if you know your schedule they have the best website and best prices. Their whole website is also in English!

Great Experian leaving on the train Trans Siberian route, from Moscow to Irkutsk, 4D4N. 2nd Class cabin for 4 persons, bed is clean, warm and comfortable, toilet is fine and food is plain. But view along the way is great.
